Dayself went to meet Dirty and Trent at the stash spot to split the money up from Yellow.

“What’s good, partners?” Dayself asked, walking into the stash spot. “Where Dick at?”

“He’s riding around, collecting and dropping off,” Dirty said.

“What are we going to do about the ecstasy pills?” Dayself asked, setting the money on the table.

“I called my people in Greenville, North Carolina. They took one thousand for five dollars a pill, Shameka in Raleigh took two thousand, and your man, Tray, in Newbern said he’s on the way to get two thousand,” Trent said.

“That still leaves so many, that I refuse to count,” Dayself said, splitting the hundreds and twenties up.

“Let’s sit on them, they’ll sell themselves. I told my people to spread the word, but we will only deal with them. The spots have been bringing in dough also. The police are kind of hot, we can handle it though. Since you’ve been down lately, we’ve sold ten keys of coke in weight. Three to your cousin in Virginia, two to the Crips in Rocky Mount, three to the Bloods in Greenville, and two to your man, Sadiq, in Rocky Mount. With all of them people calling, how do you have time to sleep?” Trent asked.

“I hardly do, that’s why we’re where we are now,” Dayself said.

“The connect been asking what’s up,” Dirty said, helping count the money.

“I’ll get at him later, after we finish the shit that we have. If he don’t drop the price, we’ll go somewhere else. Three more re-ups, and we should be ready to retire. I’m looking for some business investments, y’all should do the same,” Dayself said, getting up to leave and dialing Muffin’s number on his way out the door.

“Hey, baby daddy, how are you?” Muffin answered.

“I’m good, just missing you.”

“I was offered a job down there. It’s a little less than I make now, but I can handle it. I wanted to see what you thought about it, before I took it.”

“Doing what?” Dayself asked, getting into Shay-Shay’s car.

“I’ll be a real estate agent.”

“Why would you take a job for less pay?” Dayself asked, driving down the street.

“To be close to you.”

“What did you go to college for?”

“I majored in Business Management with a concentration in International business. I’ve just finished my real estate license, now I’m trying to get my masters in Marketing.”

“I’ll tell you what. If you make me a silent partner, I’ll give you the money to start your own real estate company. I’ll also buy five foreclosed homes to start us up. Give me two months. Go ahead and look for office space and the houses.”

“That’s another reason why I love you. You try to make life better for all the people around you,” Muffin said, starting to cry.

“I’ll call you later, all right, bae?” Dayself said, not wanting to hear Muffin cry. He was a sucker for tears.

Dayself thought to himself, It’s time to clean up some of this dirty money.

He called his uncle, Pap. Everyone thought he was Dayself’s father, because Dayself looked like a younger version of him.
